Peter Wakker elected to prestigious Fellowship of the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory
Research Fellow Peter Wakker, Professor of Decision under Uncertainty at the Erasmus School of Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam, has been elected as an Economic Theory Fellow at the internationally renowned Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory (SAET) - one of the highest honours in the field.

Economic Theory Fellows are selected for their scientific excellence, originality, and leadership; high ethical standards; and scholarly and creative achievement. The contributions of fellows may exist in many areas of theoretical economics, including pure and applied research, and government service.
The primary qualification for fellowship is to have substantially advanced economic theory. This achievement may be evidenced by an outstanding publication record; strong editorial board service; honorary, scientific, educational and professional achievements, or through the training of graduate students.
Many Nobel prize winners are included as fellows. All new elected Economic Theory Fellows are published on SAET – Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory.
About
Peter Wakker specializes in behavioral economics, with a focus on risk and ambiguity. Wakker has published in leading journals in economics, business, medicine, psychology, statistics, and mathematics. He was recognized as the best-publishing Dutch economist in 1994, 1998, 2003, and 2007 and has collaborated with three Nobel Prize winners.
Throughout his career, Wakker has received several prestigious honors, including the Medical Decision Making Career Achievement Award (2007), the Frank P. Ramsey Medal (2013)—the highest award from the INFORMS Decision Analysis Society—and an honorary doctorate in economics from the University of St. Gallen (2016).
