Fellow Mirjam van Praag Appointed at Copenhagen Business School

Research fellow Mirjam van Praag has been appointed as the Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller Professor of Entrepreneurship and Organisation at the Copenhagen Business School’ (CBS), Denmark effective 1 January 2014.

Mirjam van Praag is professor of Entrepreneurship and Organisation at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Amsterdam and a TI research fellow since 2002. Van Praag is the founding academic director of the Amsterdam Center for Entrepreneurship.

Van Praag is looking forward to join CBS. ‘Helping to further develop the field of entrepreneurship is interesting and exciting. I have been working in this field for more than 20 years in the economics department of the University of Amsterdam. Moving to a top business school such as CBS with a very attractive research environment will give ample of novel opportunities for creative entrepreneurship and innovation research together with my new colleagues’, she says.

‘We are sorry to see Mirjam leave the UvA but at the same time we are very proud that she has been appointed to this prestigious chair at the internationally renowned Copenhagen Business School’, said Professor Han van Dissel, dean of the UvA’s Faculty of Economics and Business.

TI is deeply grateful to Mirjam van Praag for all her contributions to our research institute and graduate school: as a seminar speaker, supervisor of PhD and MPhil students, teacher in the MPhil program, and co-organizer of the 8th TI Conference on Entrepreneurship, to be held mid November 2013 in Amsterdam.
